The challenge of this kitchen renovation was the already installed granite cabinet tops. The base cabinets would not accept veneer re-facing so they were professionally painted and fitted with new solid cherry doors and drawer fronts. The base unit, visible from the dining area was re-faced with bead board and painted with a complimentary color. The over-the-stove solid cherry cabinet was designed without doors to give a more open and updated design to the kitchen. The open end of the upper cabinet has a raised, solid cherry panel to match that of the doors. |

| One of a set of solid walnut matching chest of drawers are used as large bedside tables in order to provide more than adequate space for reading material and personal items. Not shown is the full walnut panel back made using traditional panel, rail and stile construction. | The face frame construction provided an opportunity for chamfered edges on each side of the chest. The finish is hand rubbed oil and varnish. |

| With a wild and highly figured base cabinet and hutch of Ambrosia maple (often called wormy maple because of the streaking caused by the Ambrosia beetle) this piece provided a delightful contrast to an already existing clear maple table. The beetle stains offer grays, browns and greens against a creamy white Maple wood. | The existing granite counter tops in the kitchen provided a nice point of continuity between the kitchen and dining area by using the same granite for this piece. |

The unit is trimmed in
custom walnut crown and base molding. The entire cabinet is finished with satin lacquer. |
