Bookcases and libraries have become a special interest of mine. I have had a lifelong love affair with books and the places that invite us to relax, learn from others and engage in quiet personal reflection. I can work with you to create your own retreat or haven or just a nice nook to escape the worries of the world for a while.

This four unit installed bookcase measures 11’4” x 8’ (h). The center base and upper units are stepped-out to provide greater definition and presence in this large family room. The cases are painted to provide informality and warmth to the entire room. |
Unique to three of these units are three access doors that cover infrequently needed utility panels. The panels are held in place with small bottom cleats and earth magnets which make the flush panels less visible and yet easily accessible. |

The 9’ oak built-in bookcase with adjustable shelves consists of three separate cases. The low base cabinets with traditional raised panel doors provide storage for additional odd sized books and other personal items. |
Part of what “pulls together” this project is the one piece solid oak top and continuous top molding. This gives the case the appearance of being one single built-in cabinet. |

The client for this project of both free standing and built-in bookcases had a specific number of linear feet of books that needed to be shelved. |
The free standing cases are made to be nestled together (without any trim impinge-ments) or they can be separated on different walls. |
