This Queen Anne style tea table is made of Honduras mahogany and it measures 35"x19" and stands 28"tall with a spray lacquered finish.
The hand sculpted second skirt gives the base and legs added definition, depth and flowing lines.
The existing granite counter tops in the kitchen provided a nice point of continuity between the kitchen and dining area by using the same granite for this piece. With a wild and highly figured base cabinet and hutch of Ambrosia maple (or often called wormy maple because the streaking is caused by the Ambrosia beetle) this piece provided a delightful contrast to an already existing clear maple table. The beetle stains offer grays, browns and greens against a creamy white Maple wood.
The final piece of this set using the bark panel and solid cherry construction is a large coffee table measuring 62"x25"x18"(h). Along with breadboard ends an off-set inlay of walnut adds depth and interest to this piece. It has a spray lacquer finish. This wonderful project began with the mantel piece. This uniqueness is in the use of a true pine bark laminated panel for the panels. As described by the supplier, Highland Craftsman, Spruce Pine, NC: "White Pine is a beautiful chestnut brown color that looks similar to leather with speckles of green lichens and occasional knots." The mantel is made of cherry with a sprayed lacquer finish. The finished panels, indeed, do look leather-like are ideal for mountain home settings.
A small side cherry bench was added
to the room using the pine bark panel in the top of the bench.
I wish I knew how many of these small, simple 17” x 11” x 22” (h) three drawer chests I’ve made over the years. They are often used beside a chair or as a stand alone piece to store all of “the stuff” that we seem to accumulate. I’ve made them out of walnut, pine, oak or just about any wood one can imagine...finished or painted they are just pleasing to the eye in almost any room.
Entertainment centers have become both popular and necessary as televisions have become larger. This oak veneered, solid oak top and face frame construction with solid oak raised panel doors makes a nice addition to any family or living room. It measures 48” x 16” x 53”(h) and features bi-folding doors that open a full 270 degrees. Hand rubbed, oil and varnish finish.

This solid cherry stand-up desk incorporates the traditional lines of a simple but highly functional work space. The interior gallery provides additional drawer space to compliment the larger lower case drawer. There is even a “secret drawer box” that is concealed within the design for those personal items and special mementos.
The desk is made entirely from Pennsylvania cherry that has been stored and air-dried in a Northern Virginia farm for well over 55 years. The lacquer finish provides a soft luster and durable surface for its daily use by a practicing attorney.
This specialized desk can be custom fitted to your specific needs. Walnut, cherry and mahogany stock is available. You may even have some special hardwood of your own that you would like to use.

The 9’ oak built-in bookcase with adjustable shelves consists of three separate cases. The low base cabinets with traditional raised panel doors provide storage for additional odd sized books and other personal items.
Part of what “pulls together” this project is the one piece solid oak top and continuous top molding. This gives the case the appearance of being one single built-in cabinet. The client for this project of both free standing and built-in bookcases had a specific number of linear feet of books that needed to be shelved. The free standing cases are made to be nestled together (without any trim impingements) or they can be separated on different walls.
Unique to three of these units
are three access doors that cover infrequently needed
utility panels. The panels are held in place with small
bottom cleats and earth magnets which make the flush panels
less visible and yet easily accessible.
This four unit installed bookcase measures 11’4” x 8’ (h). The center base and upper units are stepped-out to provide greater definition and presence in this large family room. The cases are painted to provide informality and warmth to the entire room.
Mahogany with walnut inlays makes these serving trays both versatile and highly functional. They measure 20” x 12” x 2.5” (h); size and wood choices depend on personal preference. These make wonderful and thoughtful special occasion gifts.
The face frame construction provided an opportunity for chamfered edges on each side of the chest. The finish is hand rubbed oil and varnish. One of a set of solid walnut matching chest of drawers are used as large bedside tables in order to provide more than adequate space for reading material and personal items. Not shown is the full walnut panel back made using traditional panel, rail and stile construction.
The straight grain of this stunningly beautiful wood is left to its natural beauty with a hand rubbed oil and varnish finish. The gentle taper on the legs gives this piece a "lighter" look. The simple lines and beautiful antique heart pine make this 7'6"x36" country dining table quite elegant. It is based on a French country table originally done in walnut.
